Long-distance move from Alberta to British Columbia

Move.

I would not ever use this moving company again even if it meant carrying my belongings one piece at a time on my back. They were a day late picking up and the new owners were moving in as we were being moved out. They were 12 days late delivering to our new home. When they finally arrived our belongings were in a different trailer. When they finally arrived we were told they would not begin to unload until we signed receipt of our goods in the condition they were picked up and paid them in full. We would be charged by the hour for any delay we caused. To add insult to injury damage amounted to an insurance claim of $22,000! There was and still is an outboard boat motor missing. There was not a room of furniture in our home that escaped Unbelievable damage. I hope that anyone that plans to move sees this review before they commit to this company. There was no communication from them (ever) in the time we spent agonizing over the whereabouts of the things we valued so highly. We felt that we were held hostage by this company, and to this day, are traumatized.

Long-distance move from British Columbia to Alberta

Horrible Experience.

Let me start off by saying that we will never ever trust a moving company again after this experience. The company came early in the morning and were very professional but it goes downhill from there. They ended up being a day late ( hey things happen and we understand ) they even offered to put us in a hotel for the night but we declined, they ended up taking $100.00 off of our final bill. When they delivered our stuff the movers were very nice, and we signed off on the paperwork and were very happy to just get our stuff and start our new life in Alberta. Now it gets interesting. Broken: brand new tv, the leg from our coffee table, full upright mirror. Damaged: portable dishwasher, antique table. Missing. Lots and lots. Kitchen items, hammock stands, there are boxes missing with lots of our stuff we are still going through.   Compensation: .60 per pound ( really great when my tv is 90lbs but costs $1400.00) $350.00 deductible we have to pay with an estimated 800 pounds of stuff leaves us $50.00? If that with and I'm sorry from the driver who I have to say was a very nice guy, not his fault.   This was a horrible experience, anything really we had the company move that was worth money and expensive was destroyed. I will pass this along by word of mouth to. Never ever ever ever will I recommend this company to anyone. We are out thousands of $$, missing so much stuff that it makes us feel sick, we are still unpacking and finding out more things we are missing. This is a lesson learned for us, and please make it be a warning to you, do not let this happen to your family, it's not fun. Below is pictures of our tv that was destroyed and dishwasher damage. I could add so many more of the other stuff that was damaged if there was an area to do it.

Long-distance move from British Columbia to Alberta

Best Moving Company.

These guys were amazing. They showed up exactly when they said they were going to show up, walked into the apartment to survey it for no more than two minutes or so, and then got to work. They did pad our belongings, especially some antique dinner table chairs we have, but they did the job quickly and efficiently (not sloppily). What most surprised us was their willingness--in fact, almost eagerness--to take things we had not really packed in boxes or that were just lying loose (such as books). We were planning on taking them ourselves, but they happily loaded it in the truck. They arrived at the new place quickly and immediately set to work. They were bringing in everything so fast that we barely had time to think about where to tell them to put it (which is good)!I should also say that stairs were involved in each location. Despite potential problems such as our gigantic couch and large bird cage, they maneuvered through everything easily and efficiently. I also like that they quickly reassembled the bed upon arrival.I ended up paying exactly what I was quoted in addition to a hefty tip. I'll also add that this was something of a spur-of-the-moment move, and I found Pacific West Moving Van Line MUCH more accommodating than other movers we had considered.Highly, highly recommended.

Horrible service.

Horrible dishonest service. They hired out our move to another company and didn't tell us. This other company ruined most of our stuff and was extremely late in arriving. After we filed our complaint, they offered us $200 to walk away quietly. They had ruined a 45 year old piano, our master bed frame was water damaged, we have pieces missing, toys missing, dents and scratches to our furniture that were colored in with a sharpie. Never again will they get my serviec and I'll tell everyone we know not to use them and why. I never received an apology for our damages and I had to pursue them every time.

Best Move.

We have used Pacific west moving van line services at least 2 times. They are punctual (this time they came on time) they are friendly, easy-going, professional, reasonably priced, and helpful. They are careful with their stuff (they normally move furniture) and assist you in figuring out how to store the stuff efficiently. They are able to move things through really tight spaces. I highly recommend the services of these guys.

Long-distance move from California to Colorado

Worst moving experience ever.

This is the worst moving company ever.  I was quoted $1,200 for them to move my daughter from California to Colorado - a one-bedroom apartment.  On moving day, the foreman changed the price to $4,200.  My daughter is 24 years old and is standing there with her new baby in her arms.  She doesn't know what to do other than to give him a check for half the money he quoted her.  The foreman was intimidating and yelled at me over the telephone.  They were holding my daughter's furniture hostage.  They broke over a dozen items and lost a table.  The insurance claim process is a scam.  I invested many hours of communication and filing claims - they have ignored all of my correspondence.  Do not use this company - they are a scam. They never intended to reimburse a single penny for any of the damages or even the lost table.  Lesson learned. Never again.
I would file a complaint with the BBB, DOT, etc however, I'm too exhausted and I think they have gone out of business.  They will probably change their name and just start over again with their new name.  ONLY USE REPUTABLE MOVING company with a proven track record.  Do not be fooled by a low estimate!!

Long-distance move from Ontario to Alberta

Terrible.

We are still waiting for our stuff from Toronto to Calgary, 22 days so far and the company does not care that we've had to pay for hotel, food and items for our house when we did move in.   They said 7-9 days and it has been 22 and we are not happy.  When I called them the guy in the office (manager) laughed and said if we won't pay the amt owing then we won't get our stuff.   He was a TOTAL [EDIT].  Totally unprofessional = the worst company I have never dealt with.

International move from , CA to , AB

Excellent Service.

I found this company from internet. I moved from LA,CA to  Calgary,AB. I got excellent service from them. Their sales person Tim helped me lots of things. They did full packing for me and unpacking in Calgary. When I called them first I asked to them how many days it takes from LA to Calgary. They told me that it takes 10 to 12 days. First I didn't believe it, I sent to them and asked to them again. They  said that for sure it takes 10 to 12 days included custom clearence. They picked up my shipment on April,01,2013. They did delivery my goods on April 11,2013. When I got phone call from them about delivery I didn't belive it. Only it took 10 days  to do delivery here in Alberta. I got my goods very good condition. Again I would like to thanks to Tim and their perfect crew.
Kind Regards
Tally Madison.

Do Not Use Pacific West Van Lines.

Pick up was 4 days late then adding another 4 days to delivery so 8 days later our belongings arrived broken, scratched, dirty and several boxes & a large mirror missing, with one box holding valuables handed down from 3 generations.  I have been emailing & trying to call the company to be compensated & to have the missing boxes returned.  No answers No replies Nothing.  The day before the truck arrived I was emailed the final balance & asked to have a certified cheque ready, the balance was already $200 more than agreed but then driver had a balance that was higher & refused to unload the truck until we paid the difference. We called the company for them to explain the difference & they were VERY rude & obnoxious saying I just had to pay the differnce & if we didn't truck will drive off with our belongings. Blackmail all the way. When they unloaded they were hurried & showed no respect for our belongings just dumping them down wherever they felt, no assembling etc.  My lawyer said this company is being investigated for theft as so many people are missing boxes etc & never again hear from this company.  It was a very stressful move using this company - never again.
